About
Mayhem Theory has ever been a constant factor in Allen’s life, or so he claims!!
Allen hails from that little Island to south of Australia, and he always will. He was born in Hobart and spent his early years on the West Coast of Tasmania in Queenstown before his Father accepted a transfer to the Northern part of the state to a little town called Longford. He moved to the Mainland, and the bayside city of Geelong in 2004, but to him, this will always be the Mainland and Tasmania will always be calling him home.
Allen gained his first interest in photography from his Grandmother, who owned various cameras, including a film SLR. But as he grew through his teenage years, other interest got in the way until one day in 2004 he picked up an Olympus C725 digital camera, and started shooting. From there it was plain he needed a bigger camera, so in 2007 he brought his first digital SLR, a Canon 400D, and he hasn’t looked back since.
Allen’s interest in subjects varies from aircraft to landscapes, in fact, he’ll try to shoot just about anything! His love for shipping and aircraft come first however, closely followed by fire fighting, as he is an active volunteer fire fighter. There is always a little point and shoot camera ready to roll with him during summer! He is the first to admit that he is still learning, and he is always open to friendly advice and criticism. Allen is happy being an amateur photographer, but the occasional thought of undertaking a few courses and going pro sometimes crosses his mind, but for now, he’s content wandering about the countryside and photographing whatever catches his attention.
